ABOUT RAY

Ray achieved a 2.1 honours degree in economics from Trinity College Dublin in 1986 and immediately left for London Docklands where he saw the opportunities in the fledging Canary Wharf. He qualified as a chartered surveyor specialising in property development and investment. He has over 30 years experience in property. After joining Ballymore Properties (one of Ireland’s largest developers) he became Group Investment Director on the main board, with the role of sourcing properties to acquire for development / investment. In 2009 Ballymore entered NAMA and Ray resigned and focused on his private family investment and development companies . He has acquired and developed over 300 apartments in Central London and a commercial portfolio in Central Dublin.

EXPERTISE

As Group Investment Director he was responsible for the acquisition strategy of the group which is in excess of €2.5 billion. Which comprises of over 5,250 apartments and 1.1 million sq ft of commercial accommodation. He sourced properties internationally including the UK, Germany, China, Brazil and Russia.

ACQUISITION

His expertise in negotiating the complex acquisition of sites is recognised. Only getting involved with sites that he feels have the ability to show an acceptable return and has specialised in joint ventures which shows exceptional returns to both parties. He can quickly recognise the potential of properties whether residential or commercial.

INVESTMENTS

Ray has formed several property investment and development companies. Through the recession Ray has acquired and developed over 300 apartments in London’s Zone 1 and 2. With commercial properties within London’s Central Business District. He specialises in sourcing properties that are not on the open market.

DEVELOPMENT

He is currently designing residential developments in London Docklands. Planning for these will be achieved in the near future, there is also a €15 million development of offices in Central Dublin.
